Cyanotype
Historical imaging technology with the power of the sun
Cyanotype is a photographic printing process developed in 1942 in which iron is used instead of silver. It was made widely known by the botanist Anna Atkins, who used this process to produce photograms of algae, ferns and other plants and published them as a book. For photograms, objects are placed on the light-sensitised surface instead of a negative. In addition to dried plants, I also use negatives that I create from my plant pictures.
